In a farewell note, Watson says "I have accomplished most of the goals I set for myself when I arrived here almost 17 years ago and make no mistake we rank amongst the best television stations in the world in both what we do and how we do it."

Watson began his career in broadcasting with CTV's predecessor, CHUM Limited nearly four decades ago, working at a number of television and radio stations before arriving in Kitchener-Waterloo.
