OPP Constable Rick A. Saddler, 41, has been charged following an investigation by the OPP Professional Standards Bureau.

Saddler, a five-year member of the OPP who was assigned to the Grey County Detachment, faces charges of perjury, obstructing justice and breach of trust.

The charges relate to court testimony given by the officer under oath during a Provincial Offences Act trial in Owen Sound on Jan. 24, 2011.

A criminal investigation alleges Saddler committed perjury while testifying during the trial.

Saddler, who has been suspended from duty, will make a court appearance on June 9, 2011.
