PORT COLBORNE, Ont. - Police in the Niagara region are trying to identify a cyclist who was seriously injured after being hit by two vehicles in Port Colborne, Ont.

Police say the man was struck by a Jeep Cherokee and then another vehicle Monday night on Highway 3, near Sherk Road. The second vehicle did not stop.

The cyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, N.Y.

Police are trying to identify the cyclist, a man in his early to mid 40s, clean shaven, about five-foot-10, 175-180 pounds with grey-black hair. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket, pants and toque and riding a 21-speed bicycle.

Investigators are also looking to identify a westbound dark coloured vehicle that struck the cyclist, and its driver.

Police want to hear from anyone with information.
