A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle near the Hungarian Hall in Brantford on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the vehicle was travelling northbound on Park Road North when it mounted the right curb.

It reportedly travelled along the sidewalk and hit the pedestrian. The vehicle then struck a tree, before coming to rest against a hydro pole.

Police say the pedestrian was taken to Brantford General Hospital and later transported to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at McMaster Children's Hospital in serious condition.

The driver was also transported to Brantford General Hospital for a ‘medical condition,' say police.
