The Brantford Police Service has called off an investigation into bones found in the garage of a Henrietta Street residence in June of 2009.

Results of laboratory testing have revealed the bones date back to sometime in the mid 15th to 17th century.

Two summers ago, contractors working at the Brantford residence discovered human bones in an old garage that was being demolished. The building used to be next to a doctor's office.

Earlier testing had revealed the bones to be those of a young child approximately five to 10 years old.

An excavation of the surrounding area at the time of the discovery found no additional evidence or bones.

Due to the age of the bones, the coroner's office and police have closed the case.
