Winter doesn't officially arrive for two weeks, but by the week's end London will have received more snow than last year.
A record setting snowfall has clogged the city. Most city services, including transit, have been cancelled for tonight and Wednesday. Only essential services will be provided. While People are being asked to stay off the streets to keep them clear for emergency vehicles and plows.
London's mayor considered declaring an emergency. But for now the city will cope with the snowy streets. "Hopefully it's just going to be another 24 to 48 hours, but who knows what may happen in that 24 or 48 hours," said mayor Joe Fontana.
London isn't alone. In snow country north of Toronto, near Beeton, there are many deep snow drifts, with no signs of letting up.
Meanwhile, Waterloo Region has escaped the brunt of the bad weather. But the snow elsewhere has many people preparing for what is sure to come.
