As the municipal election draws near, candidates are facing more and more questions about light rail transit.

CTV News polled nearly 40 politicians, vying for a spot on regional council.

Of the 30 respondents, about 33 per cent said they are in favour of the plan, while nearly 43 per cent are opposed. The remainder say they're undecided.

Within CTV's unscientific poll, no single candidate chose to leave transit "as is."

Several candidates expressed concern about the format of the poll and therefore did not take part.
